Let It Rain

As a daughter of my Heavenly Father, I am entitled to personal revelation.

Not long ago, I read a small excerpt in the Ensign that I loved. She said...

"Our stake president encouraged us to start a "Let It Rain" journal. He said that personal revelation is like rain. It comes drop by drop, and if we would create a reservoir for it, so to speak, in our journal, we'd be surprised at how much the Holy Ghost prompts us every day. He advised us to write in our journal any questions we might have an pray about them. When I tried this, I was astounded at how much personal revelation I had been overlooking."
- Kersten Campbell. You can read her whole experience here on page 69.

Ever since I read that, I have conciously become more aware of promptings that come my way on a regular basis. Not once or twice a week, but several times a day.

When I pray, I feel it's important to ask my Heavenly Father to continually guide me through this journey, asking Him to send me personal revelation to help me know which way He would like us to lead our lives. I also ask Him to guide my husband and children. I think it's also important to remember that we need to keep the "line of communication" open with our Heavenly Father if we want to hear from Him on a regular basis. I also believe that we must be "removed from the world" to hear Him better. But I'll get to that subject another day!

What I have on my mind lately:

* Should I put my almost 6 year old son into 2nd grade next year? And if I do, will he be mature enough to graduate high school at 16, and dive into college before he serves his mission?

* What are some ways that I can be more patient with my children?

* I haven't been a wife for very long, how can I do a better job?

* Guide me towards more missionary opportunities.

* I just got a new calling at church and am excited to start!

Today I will continue to strive to recognize what my Heavenly Father wants me to know about my divine mission... and who I am to become.
